Rollins Pass 4x4

Mike, Zena, and I took a leisurely afternoon drive up Rollins Pass Road from the East Portal of the Moffat Tunnel.  Unfortunately we didn't actually make it up to the actual Rollins Pass because the Needle Eye Tunnel was still closed.  The Needle Eye Tunnel was pretty amazing to see though.  It's crazy to think that they actually ran trains across the Continental Divide back in the 1800's.  I think we topped out at around 11,240 ft on the short hike after parking the 4Runner.

It was a really long and bumpy (although not very technical) 4WD road up to Yankee Doodle Lake and Jenny Lake, but the views of James Peak and the southern IPW were stuning.  We really lucked out with the blue skies and late afternoon light.
